Crumb & Kettle

Montreal

Neighbourhood bakery

Fresh bread every morning

Crumb & Kettle is a neighbourhood bakery in Montreal that bakes sourdough, baguettes and pastries every morning and keeps a kettle on for tea. You can take a loaf home or sit at the window counter.

Three round loaves of crusty bread dusted with flour, one topped with seeds, next to a sprig of wheat

What we bake

  • Sourdough loaves

A plain country loaf every day, plus a seeded rye on weekends.

  • Baguettes

Baked twice a day, so the afternoon batch is still warm at 4 pm.

  • Croissants and pains au chocolat

Laminated by hand the night before and baked first thing.

  • Seasonal pastries

Apple turnovers in the fall and maple buns through the winter.

  • Tea from the kettle

A small list of loose leaf teas, poured to go with whatever just came out of the oven.
